Caribbean Disney Cruise

Caribbean Disney Cruise

If you're looking for a cruise, and want to take the family along, your search will most likely begin with a Caribbean Disney Cruise. Disney shook up the cruise industry when they got in the game in the late 90's, and they've been making waves ever since.

Although Disney offers a variety of destinations on their line, the original Caribbean version of the Disney cruise remains the most popular. A can't-miss stop on these trips is Castaway Cay, a private island owned entirely by Disney. This island in the Bahamas is as "story-book" as you would expect from a Disney private island โ€“ incredible lush, green foliage, pure white-sand beaches and of course the crystal-clear ocean.

A visit to the Cay is incorporated into several different versions of Caribbean Disney cruises โ€“ whether you intend to visit the Bahamas or tour the Caribbean, a stop at Castaway Cay will be on your itinerary.

Currently this means a visit aboard the Disney Wonder or Disney Magic ships.

Coming in 2011, however, will be the maiden voyage of the massive Disney Dream. This vessel will be 40% larger than the aforementioned pair of ships, and the stats are quite impressive: the Dream has capacity for four thousand guests in 1,250 staterooms, with a total length of 1,115 feet (nearly four football fields)!

Of course, building a new ship means that Disney will have the opportunity to offer even greater features and the most modern of amenities. On board you'll find contemporary staterooms with state-of-the-art technology at every turn. The interior space is packed with restaurants, theatres, night clubs and lounges for your dining and entertainment pleasure.

The fourteen decks offer ample space to enjoy the Caribbean sunshine, including 3 pools tailored to guests of varying age ranges.

And perhaps the most breath-taking attraction will be the "Aqua Duck," a water coaster that will transport adventurous guests through 765 feet of clear acrylic tubing, through a descent totaling of four decks, out over the edge of the ship and finally into a lazy river. This offers the perfect opportunity for amazing ocean views!

Unfortunately it's too late now to book your Disney Caribbean cruise on the historic maiden voyage of this fantastic vessel, but there are plenty of other cruises embarking throughout 2011. Get planning now for the family vacation of a lifetime!
